A great start to your child's journey with school begins with a vibrant and loving classroom.

The Pre-K application for the 2026-27 school year opens March 2, 2026.MNPS Pre-K is a nationally recognized program that has been supporting Davidson County's youngest learners for more than 10 years.

Our program provides children with the opportunity to grow, explore and learn in a caring and fun environment. We provide support services, such as before and after care, nutrition services, family engagement, health services and tuition assistance.

Who Can Apply for Pre-K?

Pre-K enrollment is separate from K-12 registration and has its own eligibility requirements. All children must meet health and immunization requirements. 

4-Year-Olds

Children must turn 4 on or before August 15 of the intended school year.

3-Year-Olds

  • Some classrooms accept 3-year-olds with birthdays on or before August 15. 
  • Current 3-year-olds with birthdays between August 16 to September 30 will receive priority.

Pre-K Classroom Options

Metro Schools has several types of classrooms for you to chose from - from Early Learning Centers to Montessori to traditional elementary school-based classrooms.

Pre-K Fees

Some Pre-K seats require a fee, ranging between $0-$144 per child every week. Tuition assistance is available for families.
