Find your zoned school online or call the Family Information Center for support in finding your neighborhood school.

Optional Schools

• You can apply for a school outside of your zone through the MNPS School Options Application. 
  • Reminder: You still will need to register your child for Kindergarten if you apply to an optional school. 

Gather All Required Documents 

• Families will need to gather the following documents to register for Kindergarten.
• Record of Birth (birth certificate, passport, visa, I-94) - Children must turn five years old on or before August 15 of the school year they are entering kindergarten.
• Tennessee (TN) Immunization Record - An official TN Immunization Certificate from your child’s medical provider or any Metro Public Health Clinic.
• Proof of a Physical - Physical examination must have been performed within one year of the date of enrollment.
• Proof of Davidson County Residency - Current (30 days or less) utility or telephone bill, lease, or homeowner policy in the parent’s/guardian’s name.
• Parent/Guardian Photo ID - Parent/Guardian must be present if registering in person.

Kindergarten Registration for Current Students Through Campus Portal

Is your student already attending an MNPS Pre-K? If so, you can register your student for Kindergarten in Campus Parent Portal.

Step by Step Registration in Campus Portal

• Go to the More section and select the Online Registration option.
• Select the Rising Kindergarten Existing Student Registration (select the correct school year) option.
• Your household information will auto-populate. Review and confirm all information in the fields.
• Upload a recent Tennessee Immunization Record.
• Click submit once you have reviewed and completed the form.

Don't Have a Campus Parent Account?

• Current families without a Campus Parent Portal account can request access. 
• Once registered and logged into the account, follow the Kindergarten registration steps in this section.

New Students Can Register Online or In Person

Visit the MNPS Register for School page to register online using the Online Registration Portal.

Registration for English Learners

If another language besides English is spoken in the home, families will also need to call the Office of English Learners to schedule an assessment appointment.

Need to Register for Kindergarten in Person?

If families are unable to register online, they can contact an Enrollment Center to make an appointment to register in person. The parent and/or guardian must be present for in person registration.
