Pre-K Program Guide
Pre-K can help prepare your child for success in elementary school and beyond. Metro Schools offers more opportunities for Pre-K than ever before, and this page will help you navigate your different options.
Once you have found the right option for your family, you will need to obtain an MNPS student identification number and then you can submit a Pre-K application online through the MNPS website.
Applications received before the initial application window will be included in a random selection process that determines placement based on program eligibility. Applications received after the deadline will be added to the end of the waitlist.
Pre-K Schools for 2026-2027
- A list of schools with Pre-K classrooms will be added to this page when the school locations are finalized.
- There are some schools that accept 3-year-olds as well and some schools have specific income requirements.

- Yes* : 3-year-olds are considered for placement only after all 4-year-olds on the site's waiting list have been exhausted.
- Yes+ : 3-year-olds are selected along with 4-year-olds throughout the year at this site
- Yes** : 3-year-olds are considered for placement only after all 4-year-olds on the site's waiting list have been exhausted and must meet specific income requirements.
