Pre-K Program Fees

Metro Pre-K classrooms are funded in a number of different ways, including local, state, and federal funding. Each funding source has different requirements, like serving only low-income students or charging a fee.

Pre-K program fees are based on a sliding scale. Depending on a family’s household income, the fee could be anywhere from $0–144 per child per week. After July 1st, Pre-K fees are subject to change for the 2026-2027 school year.  The fee does not include before or after care.

Families can choose to pay weekly or monthly. Payment begins on the first day your child attends school.

• Weekly payments: Due the Friday before the week of attendance.
• Monthly payments: Due by the 1st of each month. A 5% discount applies to monthly payers.

Holidays, breaks, and inclement weather days are included in the Pre-K fees.

Receipts are available only for in-person payments made at the Family Information Center. Receipts are not provided for payments made by mail or online.

Yes. MNPS offers reduced tuition rates to families currently experiencing hardship, family emergency, or trauma. 

Submit a Pre-K Tuition Assistance Application and documentation to your child’s school. Applications will be reviewed by MNPS Pre-K leadership.
