Welcome to Kindergarten Guide
This guide is a great resource for incoming kindergarten families to support them as they get ready for school. The program includes information on the MNPS kindergarten program, school resources and a countdown to school guide.
ParentPowered Service
ParentPowered delivers weekly text messages in English or Spanish with fun facts and tips to provide Pre-K – 4th grade families with simple, engaging activities to help your child continue to learn and grow.
MNPS families with students in Pre-K – 4th grade will automatically be enrolled through the MNPS Family Portal. This program is provided by the Governor’s Early Literacy Foundation in partnership with the Tennessee Department of Education. Families can unsubscribe at any time by texting STOP to 70138.
MNPS Support Services

Kindergarten Readiness Fair
Every year, MNPS, with the help of Metro Nashville Health Department and amazing sponsors, holds the Countdown to Kindergarten Fair.
The fair is a great opportunity to meet incoming families, learn about kindergarten at MNPS, receive additional resources, and have some family fun.
The 2026 fair will be on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Lentz Public Health Center. Details to follow.
